Introducing CartoChroma
Color Postscript Plug-In for MapMaker

CartoChroma not only adds colors but it offers a choice of contrast schemes (dark-land v. light-sea, or light-land v. dark-sea).  Since most final variant maps are in color, CartoChroma provides a variant designer with a better preview of the final product--especially with the ability to mimic the color schemes of popular internet Diplomacy interfaces. 

I created CartoChroma for my personal use of David Norman's MapMaker map design tool.  CartoChroma is merely a series of Postscript templates (which are merely modifications of the original grayscale  template for MapMaker by Gary Duke).  Like changing an ink cartridge, I manually replace a single file in MapMaker so that MapMaker generates whichever color scheme I please.
